Cascaron Bash in a Nutshell

May 11, 2018

Under the beautiful Hays Bridge on a perfect cool breezy April evening you could hear the sounds of Mariachis, smell the delicious BBQ searing, see the bright colors of cascarones and feel the excitement in the air. On April 10, 2018 Webhead’s Annual Cascaron Bash was happening with friends, family, colleagues, locals, & city and state officials.

This event founded by the undisputed woman, tech leader, Latina CEO Janie Gonzalez is in its fifth year and raises money for local STEAM Non-Profit organizations such as the Girls Scouts, San Antonio Independent School District, San Antonio Education Partnership, Our Lady of the Lake and many more. This year benefits went to the Young Women’s Leadership Academy and Hispanic Inspiring Students Performance and Achievement Organization.

It is a unique opportunity for businesses and other organizations to sponsor or buy a table or a group of tickets to help support San Antonio’s youth and to enjoy a festive evening of networking and relaxation. Not to mention a great warm up for San Antonio’s annual Fiesta season.

The team from American GI Forum National Veterans Outreach has been a wonderful supporter of Cascaron Bash and had this to say:

“Cascaron Bash 2018 is my favorite event of the year because it helps give students, many of whom are from military families, the opportunity for success and brings together so many wonderful community partners to support STEAM. Webhead’s energy and passion to better our community is incredible, and I cannot wait to see what they do for Cascaron Bash 2019!”
Julianna Gonzaba, American GI Forum National Veterans Outreach Program

“I loved celebrating with Webhead and Cascaron Bash to make a difference in the lives of our community’s students! It is a great event leading up to Fiesta and so many impactful organizations are involved in making it happen. Janie and her team do an awesome job not just with Cascaron Bash, but all year round with the consistent volunteer work they do in our community.”
Van Mitchell, American GI Forum National Veterans Outreach Program

It has been exciting to see the vision Ms. Gonzalez had for Cascaron Bash come to fruition and have such an impact on the community. From the first event to the last, the growth and support of the event has been incredible. I encourage you to take part in Cascaron Bash next year by attending, sponsoring or volunteering. The live music, great food and atmosphere is one that should be experienced for yourself. Kudos to Janie, the Committee, sponsors and countless volunteers for always putting their hearts, and soul into making this an EPIC event.
